Manning J. Smith III (PA)
Manning is President of the Diversified Technology Group of Indel, Inc. A former Marine captain, he served as an artillery officer with the 2d Battalion, 12th Marines and as an intelligence officer with the 3d Marine Aircraft Wing. As a reservist, he served with the 1st and 3d Battalion, 14th Marines.
He received his BA degree from Dartmouth College, where he joined the Marine PLC program as a freshman and was commissioned following graduation in 1962. Released from active duty in 1965, Manning entered the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and received his MBA in 1967. He worked as an auditor, becoming a CPA in 1970.
In 1983 he joined Indel, Inc., a New Jersey-based group of engineering and technology-based companies delivering diverse technology and manufacturing a wide variety of capital equipment. Starting as Director of Corporate Development and advancing to Group Vice President and Group President, Smith has been closely involved with the company’s growth worldwide.
Manning is a Director of the South Jersey Technology Park at Rowan University and has been active with the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation since 1992. He and his wife, Ginny, have established MCSF Memorial Scholarships in honor of his father, LCDR Manning J. Smith, Jr., USNR (Ret.) and his uncle, Capt Lowell H. Smith USMCR.
Smith received the Philadelphia Committee Globe and Anchor Award in 2008.
