244 Years
by Lieutenant General George J. Trautman III USMC (Ret.), Chairman, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
On Nov. 10, generations of Marines will gather for our annual celebration of the Corps’ birthday – a tradition now in its 244th year.
As the Corps approaches the halfway point of its third century, I’m marked by the continued resilience of this small but mighty branch. Internationally revered for their skill, bravery, and loyalty, our Nation’s Marines continue to show us what it means to live a life of service above self.
At the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, we strive to honor their commitment to service by investing in the educational futures of their children. We’re confident that the values their Marine parents live by have been instilled within them. Our country will clearly benefit from our support of these most deserving young people.
Thank you for your dedication to our mission of Honoring Marines by Educating Their Children, and Happy Birthday, Marines.
Semper Fidelis,
Lieutenant General George J. Trautman III USMC (Ret.)
