Children of Chaplains and RPs Now Eligible to Apply
by Lieutenant General Robert R. Ruark USMC (Ret.)
Since 1962, the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation has supported the children of Marines as they pursue their dreams of higher education. In the year 2000, recognizing the contributions of our Navy Corpsmen who serve and sacrifice alongside our Marines, we opened our application to the children of Navy Corpsmen.
Today, I am excited to announce a recent Board-approved decision to include the children of Navy Chaplains and Religious Program Specialists in our scholarship program. For the first time in our history, children of Chaplains and Religious Program Specialists attached to Marine Corps units, or previously attached to Marine units, are eligible to apply for our scholarships.
Chaplains and Religious Program Specialists have supported the Marine Corps since its inception, serving alongside our Marines across the globe, providing spiritual guidance, and serving as their moral anchor. The kinship Marines feel for their Chaplains and RPs is well-known, and we hope this news sends a strong message of support to their families.
Thank you for your continuous support of the Scholarship Foundation. We hope you’ll help us spread the word about our open scholarship application – now available to eligible children of Marines, Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains, and Religious Program Specialists!
More information about the application and how to apply can be found at www.mcsf.org/apply.
