Happy 248th Birthday, Marines

Since the Marine Corps’ founding two hundred and forty-eight years ago, Marines have defended the liberties and values of this great country. The storied legacy of the Corps continues today as Marines maintain a world-renowned dedication to mission focus, resilience, discipline, and esprit de Corps. These qualities, passed on from generation to generation, enable Marines to protect our Nation in an increasingly complex and changing world.

As I reflect on the history and future of the Corps, I want to thank you for your support to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. For more than sixty years, we have awarded scholarships to children of Marines raised on the values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment. By investing in these students, you do more than say “thank you for your service”’ to them and their families.  You honor the service and sacrifice of all Marines and ensure our Nation’s next generation of leaders have access to the educational opportunities they need to take their place in American society.
